Morning Light Still Life
I was putting out breakfast this morning and when I closed the fridge door and turned around, I was arrested by the morning light illuminating the countertop. It makes a simple scene -- juice, Greyere, paintbrushes, plant -- so inviting.
Is that black countertop? I think I'm going to go with black again, if I can't get real butcher block. Love this photo; I can "feel" the morning light in a sleepy, warm kind of way.
Yep, it's black countertop. Nothing great, and really scratched up, but supposedly you can buff out the scratches....I need to get that done! I love a black backdrop (as you can tell from this blog!)
Thanks about the house. I really love it and it feels homey to me. Well, the downstairs where I live feels homey...the upstairs feels like boys who could care less about interior ambiance. But maybe I'll do a photo tour of the downstairs, once it's clean! :-)

Great beginning to the day!

Yes, what a warm, inviting atmosphere. I enlarged the photo hoping to see what kind of cheese you were eating, but no go.
It was" Le Greyere", raw milk cheese, from Switzerland. :-)
We were just in Gruyere in September! Thanks for satisfying my curiousity. : )
Such a beautiful, modern day still life. That light is so peaceful. I like the room in the background, too!
Great still life, Beth. Even at eleven at night here, it makes me feel morning-ish.
That's neat! There's a warm glow about it.
the combination of light, cheese, plant... all very inviting!
That is sort of weird that we'd have the same morning experience! Great shot (and I for one would love a photo tour of your home!).
