Do we have an approximate ETA on that?

The spirituality that drove this well-meaning soul to place this sign in my path doesn't resonate with me. At all. I don't get it. I can't imagine he'd think this would be effective in....what? Getting someone to convert to his religion? Getting people to clean up their acts, and fast? Spreading peace and beauty and truth and goodness into the universe? I see these kinds of messages occasionally on the roadside, and thought this one looked particularly ominous today with the thunderclouds behind it.

wow, that is a great photo, even if the message is less than effective. The mood of the shot really matches ominous message.

Yeah, the sign doesn't resonate with me, but your comments do, Beth. I'm cracking up ~ okay, smirking, anyway.

"Hey, wanna go get a beer today after work?"

"Are you kiddin', man? Didn't you see the sign on Hellfire Highway comin' in to work today? Jesus is coming!"

"Huh? Whaddya mean?"

"He's comin', man. Like, NOW. And I gotta get ready!"

Clearly I'm in no danger of earning any Signpost Evangelism Points.

Great capture.

I think the main thing signs like that accomplish is making the person who put it up feel like he accomplished something.

It also provides all kind of fodder for Saturday Night Live skits.

You are the photo-storyteller for sure. :) Love it.

Ominous, indeed...good eye there, Beth.

My thought is this: what, exactly, should we do to get ready for Jesus? Clean the toilets? Put a pot of chili on? Make some tea?

If I'm not ready now, there ain't much more I can do, I suppose...

Hope you don't mind me stopping by your site. I've been visiting your friends' sites as well, I love the photography. This particular shot hits too close to home for me, if I may be so transparent. Very effective.
