Wow! A Marine? That is such a huge, life changing decision. I take it he's been thinking of this for a while now. I'm really impressed. How are you doing with it all?
I'm trying to live in peace with his decision....which, come to think of it, is a large part of what parenting adult children must entail! :-) I see tremendous benefits for him from the military, but given that it is Grayson we're talking about, he of the multiple near-misses.... I'm appropriately worried. I just keep telling myself that life can be dangerous anywhere (think: motorcycle). Plus, I've already gotten "the call" before, twice. "Your son's been hit by a car", "Your son has had a bad skateboard accident. EMS is trying to stabilize him now; his head's bleeding pretty bad and he doesn't know who he is." Plus a handful of other calls, "Mom, I'm OK , but...." So I've already adjusted, to some degree, with his life being fraught with peril. He wants to do this, and it's an honorable job. So that's where I am with the decision. Today. He'll leave in October, we think.
Wow. Beth. Was this something he had been thinking about or did he just get an idea and jump in? Prayers for you and him, my dear. Hopefully, his track record won't continue. I can see why he'd be drawn to this particular career path.
Anyway, I wanted to stop in and say "Hi". I just got home from Georgia after having had two tires blowout and my wheel well bend into touching my tire.
Your projects turned out great. The paper cutting one just looked so, so tedious to do... kudos to you for completing it. I am curious about your next projects!
Hello, Beth. I know I haven't commented in a while. Been a busy few weeks for me.
My hat off to your son, Grayson. This is a very brave young man. And yes, my prayers with you, Grayson and your family. It'll be a great and amazing adventure for him I'm sure.
My nephew who enlisted in the Navy a year ago returns from the middle east in a couple weeks. We are very grateful for his safe arrival home.

Wow. When does he leave? (And how many other Marines had their mom there taking their picture? Our children will be glad when this year is over!)
Glad you recorded this historic event in your family's life. Prayers and good wishes for Grayson's future!
Holy cow - wow! What a big turn of events!!!!
I'm happy for this. The Marines do a good job with helping boys become men. My dad was a proud Marine...
How are YOU?
What a change! My prayers are with you and Grayson!
Just wow. Hoping for good things for him.
oh wow.
